Grade 2 Students and Technology

In Grade 2, students begin to develop paragraphs and various writing styles.

Using technology, students begin to develop word processing,

skills of keyboarding and formatting,

and publishing their work using a variety of software.

Grade 2 students wrote about the 
composition of dirt 
and then applied the technology skills 
of keyboarding and formatting 
to produce this integrated technology project.
Other Grade 2 projects early in the year 
involved a study on 
Where Food Comes From  
Students wrote about their favorite food;
and explained how food like spaghettios
gets to the store. 
Students  keyboarded and formatted the text 
using their classroom computers.
Grade 2 students also learn how to 
create illustrations 
and label diagrams with vocabulary 
they learned in their study 
of rocks and minerals.
Within the school-wide concept, Culture

Grade 2 students wrote about 
their favorite tradition. 
Technology skills of keyboarding and formatting 
were then used to produce the final piece. 
Original art enhanced the projects.
