Welcome to John Muir Middle School PTA's web page!

Membership Membership is open to parents, teachers, and community members without regard to race, color, creed or national origin.
Purpose Muir PTA is a volunteer organization that works to promote the education and well-being of all children and youth at home, in school and in the community.
History Chartered in 1926, the John Muir Middle School PTA is one of the oldest units in Burbank.
Activities Muir PTA holds monthly meetings, usually the second Wednesday of each month at 7 PM in the school library, to conduct unit business as well as to offer programs and speakers covering topics of interest to its membership. We publish a monthly newsletter that is mailed to all students and their families that includes important school-related information, articles written by teachers about what's happening in their classrooms as well as other articles of interest. In the fall, we sponsor the Reflections contest which involves competition at the unit, District, state and national level, as well as offering a CAPS contest, a school-wide creative writing contest in the spring. We hold two Family Fun Nights, one in the fall and one in the spring, where families are invited to get together for dinner and fun. In December, our PTA sponsors five needy families by providing them with holiday baskets that include food and gift items.
