Welcome to Roosevelt! Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School, established in 1927 and located in the heart of Burbank's media district, services 465 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Within a two mile radius exists a unique cohabitation of industrial giants such as Warner Bros., Disney, and NBC, and a myriad of small storefront businesses. The residential community is composed of a mixture of single family homes and apartments. Mobility in the area is minimal, as reflected by our stable enrollment figures.
At Roosevelt we believe that every student can succeed in a caring and nurturing learning environment. We are proud of our active PTA and Parent Volunteer programs. Our reputation for embracing a "family-like" atmosphere where parents and a highly dedicated professional staff work together for the success of every child has resulted in families openly expressing their strong support for the school, and making concerted efforts to remain in the area for the duration of their children's elementary schools years.
Support services available at Roosevelt to meet special students needs include:
Unique to Roosevelt is our departmentalized fourth and fifth grade program. Students work with a team of five teachers for two years. Each teacher has highly developed and richly enhanced one subject area. Lesson content and delivery are powerful and centered on active student participation. In its sixth year of implementation, this program has been credited with the exemplary preparation of our students for middle school.
Our recent designation as a California Distinguished School is a celebration of what we are all about at Roosevelt: Thanks for visiting! |
