Roberta Smith

Mrs. Roberta Smith teaches a fourth grade bilingual class at Walt Disney School, where she has taught since 1968 in a variety of grade levels. She was born in New Jersey and graduated from Newark State College in Union, New Jersey, with a degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she taught fourth grade in Westfield, New Jersey, for three years. After her arrival in Burbank, she returned to school and took a wide variety of postgraduate courses at CSUN, primarily in the areas of sociology and political science. In 1986, Mrs. Smith was selected Burbank's Teacher of the Year.

Patrick Carman

Mr. Patrick Carman graduated from UCLA in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He has taught elementary school for 9 years in a variety of grade levels. In addition, for the past three years Mr. Carman has been an instructor for UCLA Extension, providing a number of courses in Instructional Technology. Mr. Carman works as a consultant for school districts, educational software developers, and educational special interest groups. In 1994, Mr. Carman was named the Burbank Unified School District's Teacher of the Year.
