| 1) What does $770 pay for? |
|
$770 pays for student salary ($5.00 per hour for 140 hours), and the remaining roughly 10% covers the workers' compensation and payroll taxes. No administrative costs are passed through to the employer and businesses don't pay until a student is assigned. The student does not need to go on the employers payroll. |
| 2) Are hours flexible? |
|
YES. Business is paying for 140 hours of student work. We prefer 4 hours a day, 5 days a week for eight weeks (so students can go to summer school and get used to a work routine, five days a week for eight weeks) but we will except longer days. The bottom line is, let us know what your needs are and we will try to meet them. |
| 3) What if the student doesn't work out? |

We will try to avoid this problem with the weekly mentor/monitor that will come out to the business. If the student is not working out, we will
try to substitute in another student. If that does not work, we will go with a refund. We will work with you to make sure you are satisfied. |
| 4) What if my business is located outside of Burbank? |
|
You can still participate if your business is located outside of Burbank.
The only geographic restriction, requires students to live in Burbank. Several of last years businesses were located outside of Burbank. Keep in mind however that transportation is an issue with many students, so the closer you are to Burbank the better. |
| 5) If I can't hire a student is there anything else I can do? |
|
The program needs sponsorships or donations to place students to work at local non-profit organizations. Donations of any amount will be combined
with other donations to place as many students as possible at places like the YMCA, Salvation Army, Red Cross, Burbank Temporary Aid Center and medical centers. |
| 6) I want to participate, what do I do next? |
|
Call, fax or E-mail us and we will send you a Position Request Form (PRF). This forms give you an opportunity to tell us exactly what skills you are looking for. The next step is student screening, job matching, and placement. Not until after the assignment of a student will you receive an invoice. |
